Abstract:
The subject of this work is flora of vascular plants in the Słowiński National Park, which obtained the status of the World's Biosphere Reserve in 1977. The Park is situated at the Baltic Sea, about 100 km west of the city of Gdańsk. Since the beginning of the 19th century, in the area of about 18,247 hectares some 865 wild species and 21 cultivated ones (not running wild) have been recorded. In this work every taxon has been characterized. Each description comprises, among others, the occurrence frequency of a given taxon, its phytocoenological scale in the area studied, as well as geographical and historical origin. For very rare and rare species all their localities were given, while for more frequent plants only 10 representative localities. The distribution of 30 specially interesting species has been shown on punctual maps. The statistical data presented in this work are illustrative of taxonomic, biological and ecological diversity of the park's flora and also allow us to estimate the actual state of its preservation.
